A Review of a Night at Monsoon Nightclub with Bad Girls by Fiona

I was so excited about the whole event during the day at work I couldn't even concentrate and I was so hyper that I couldn't sit still. I couldn't even eat I was so excited. I left work early so that I could go home and change. I had arrived at 4.30pm at Caesars Casino. I was going to meet friends there at about 5pm. We thought we'd get there to have really early dinner. I waited for my friends in front of Monsoon Lagoon, one of the most talked about clubs in Johannesburg. I had never been there before and the place had a reputation. I stood in front of the club chewing on my peppermint gum looking at my watch every five minutes. I was excited and nervous at the same time. My friends eventually arrived at about 5.15pm. We went to go and eat something at a place called Nando's. I forced myself to eat knowing very well that we were going to be drinking. The queue started to form at about 6pm and there was such a buzz by the entrance of Monsoon Lagoon. Everyone was getting their tickets out and ready even though the doors were only supposed to have opened at 8pm. We asked the people standing next to use to keep our spot in the queue while we had a drink at a restaurant next door. We see the doors open at 7pm, so we downed our drinks and ran back to our spot. They let us in at about 7.30pm, which surprised us, as they normally never let you in early in these kinds of events. We got a free drink on entry and as we entered it I had a feeling of WOW! We sat at a table at the bar and above this bar there was a catwalk above it. They had a big screen above the stage showing adverts. Nice lasers, lighting and the music was pumping. They had a radio DJ come and do a prize giveaway.

You had to silly things to win Bad Girls memorabilia and it was quite amusing. The DJ from Highveld Radio station wasn't shy; the reason why I saw that is because she was saying the most naughty things. It was also ladies night at the club, which I found quite funny because 80% of the crowd were lesbian. When the male dancers came out to do their thing, the crowd divided really quickly. It was about 8.55pm when we started to see on the big TV screen, scenes from Bad Girls and it was Sylvia saying something. I cant remember what though! Then we heard the musical theme for Bad Girls come over the speakers. Then it was announced ...The BAD GIRLS WERE IN THE HOUSE!! The crowd went absolutely mad! I couldn't see where they were, I looked at the stage and nothing. I looked at the stairs to my right and nothing. My friends and I got up from our chairs and look above us on the catwalk. We first saw Lara and Joe. I was thinking where the hell is Mandana!! Then we saw Simone and I thought she is more beautiful in person WOW and then second thought was she is tiny! Then eventually we saw Mandana! I was so taken by her. I felt my legs go weak like rubber bands. My feet felt like they were cemented to the floor. I thought to myself, all I need to is to fall over.

I will be so embarrassed. They waved at the crowd and were full of smiles. The crowd was still going crazy. They went into the VIP area that over looked the bar area and they had a excellent view of the whole club. There was glass "barricades" We could see them and they could obviously see us. We could see that their photos were being taken and being interviewed. Simone and Mandana hugged a few times which the crowd obviously saw and them go even more of a frenzy. They were all hugging each other actually so I think its because of the bond they seemed to have. Half an hour later they came back onto the catwalk with glasses of win in hand as well as a microphone. I still remember Mandana walking over to Simone while she was talking to the crowd. Then Mandana took the microphone from her and said, "Don't you think she would look great with red hair?" There was a red light shining right above Simone's head. I couldn't help but smile when that happened. The crowd wanted Mandana and Simone to kiss. The crowd went mad when they did! Lara did try to mimic the scene from series two when she pretended to want to jump from the railings of the catwalk and into the crowd. The DJ started to play some disco song about Bad Girls. Lara grabbed the mic and started to sing the song. I couldn't believe how much of a party animal Simone is. Mandana looked so stylish and elegant even in the way she walked. Then they walked off the catwalk and down into the crowd. They sat in a lounge area in a corner of the club to sign autographs. There was so many people in a small space trying to hard to get to them. I was almost lifted off my feet and had the feeling that everyone was going to fall over. They were there for about 20 minutes or so signing the autographs. They went back up to the VIP area.

Mandana every now and then would look down at the crowd below. My neck was getting so sore but I didn't care. Mandana kissed the glass a couple of times which made us scream in delight. A few minutes later they made there way to the stage. They didn't dance in the crowd I think because there were to many people and for security reasons. Maybe the crowd was to wild? They danced on stage and we loved it. They took their water bottles spraying us with water. Simone took a hat from a girl in the crowd and wore it for a little while. It was a cowboy hat. They really got down when they took off their shoes. Mandana and Simone danced together for a while. I think Joe felt really awkward because of the attention that the girls were getting. Lara and Joe left but Mandana and Simone stayed to sign more autographs. This time I managed to get in line with no problems. I was so hyped up about the whole thing, so when I got to speak to Mandana first, she looked directly at me. She asked how I was and smiled. I choked because all I managed to say was "it is really great to meet you" Mandana asked me if I was having a good time but I don't think she heard me answer her question, so she asked again. Then Mandana asked which card I wanted autographed because they two different kinds. I couldn't even answer her I just look at her. She just signed the card she had in her hand. I felt and still do feel like a completely and utter IDIOT. I cant even remember if I said thank you! I then sat next to Simone while she was talking and signing someone else's card. I asked her to sign mine but I didn't see that she already signed it. She kindly pointed that out to me and I said, "Thanks and it was great meeting you" She looked at me and smiled..then said its my pleasure. I was such an idiot!

I was still on a very big high the rest of the night though. Then it was about 12.30am. They left the party. My friends and I stayed until 1.30am. I got home at about 2.30am and I was still awake at 3.30am. I had to be up at 6am to get ready for work. When I was at work I had no voice and I was completely exhausted. It was worth it and its a night I will never forget.

The now legendary kiss!
