London Bridge

Mandana Jones

MONDAY 12 JANUARY

Kim (Kemi Baruwa) is feeling optimistic.
She knows that last night her father Dave (Reginald Tsiboe) stayed late on a visit to his estranged wife Diane (Ellen Thomas).
"I think Mum and Dad might be sorting things out," she tells her flat-mate Jarvis (Glen Berry), as her father sleeps in. But when he finally surfaces, Dave breaks the news to his daughter of his ultimatum to Diane about his return to Ghana.
Defying her sister-in-law Isobel (Sally Edwards), Liz (Rosalind March) has taken on both Johnny and Nell Miller (James Clyde and Anna Bolt) to join the SE1 staff. But as soon as Isobel sees Nell working front of house, she tackles a nonchalant Liz about what's best for the restaurant.
Jyoti (Sunetra Sarker) has had just one date with Jarvis, but that is enough for her mother Meena (Leena Dhingra) to fuss about the kind of life her "baby girl" will lead once she is left to fend for herself in London.
As she packs for the return journey to Birmingham, Meena takes a surprised Sam (Mandana Jones) into her confidence.
And when Ravi (Ayub Khan Din) gets back to the flat after an unusual Saturday morning trip to the office, he is amazed at what he finds and hears.

This episode is written by Philip Gerard and directed by Bren Simson. The producer is Nicolas Brown.
