TUESDAY 23 DECEMBER
It's Christmas Day at the Millhouse - and families are getting together for the festive lunch.
But after her initial burst of enthusiasm for a meal in Isobel's penthouse, Liz (Rosalind March) is not certain she can face it.
She tells Cliff (Billy Geraghty) that first she plans to help a friend in his soup kitchen for the homeless.
Leaving hospital after visiting his sick mother, a pensive Cliff chooses to join Liz as she doles out Christmas meals to the needy.
Noel Symmons (Alan Cooke) is dreading his worst Christmas ever, as he gets ready to sit down with brother Dave (Reginald Tsiboe), sister-in-law and lover Diane (Ellen Thomas), and niece Kim (Kemi Baruwa).
But despite the groaning table and the perfunctory pulling of the crackers, the tension among the quartet is palpable - and building. Will the news of Diane and Noel's affair erupt among the trifle and Christmas pudding on today of all days?
And at Ravi and Sam's flat, Auntie Meena (Leena Dhingra) is cooking up a storm - and hitting the sherry bottle.
This episode is written by Jeff Povey and directed by Steve Ruggi. The producer is Nicolas Brown.
