Freddie (Nicholas Pritchard) is having to face a bleak future without the woman he loves.
Allie's death from a brain tumour has shocked the community of the Millhouse.
And though Liz (Rosalind March) is a tower of strength when it comes to the funeral arrangements, she is upset that Sam (Mandana Jones) did not break medical confidentiality on the news of Allie's fatal illness.
Allie's sudden death only serves to widen the gulf between Freddie and his son Sean (Jay Lewis).
Nell (Anna Bolt) does her best to comfort Sean when he pours out his feelings, but as she talks about the loss of parents, he spots a strange variation in her story.
Cliff (Billy Geraghty) is to get ten grand for stealing a car, a proposition which worries him, especially as he distrusts Johnny's (James Clyde) friend Graham who has set up the operation.
But when he sees Johnny's obvious nervousness, Cliff suspects that he hasn't been told the whole truth about the scam.
